I've read mixed reviews on getting knitting on international flights. It shouldn't be a problem but some people report having their knitting rejected from their carry-on luggage. There are a number of suggestions - like removing your adjustable needles from your work so that you don't have to discard the whole project (or figure out what to do with it) if they ask you to throw away your needles. Or only bringing wooden needles, etc.
I'm still on the fence about what projects to bring. A pair of socks (or two) is a non-brainer but what else? A lace shawl? A sweater? A mindless baby blanket?
